Baseball Season Kicks Off in the Northwest Corner
Summer is almost here in the Northwest Corner and that means baseball season. Sure, you can watch NESN (New England Sports Network) or the YES Network, like most fans in New England, but why not grab a chair and stop by one of the TriTown games?
It’s played in all the area towns and you can almost always catch a game at one of the favorite spots at Community Field in Litchfield. It’s a common place to watch our local kids from Litchfield/Goshen/Morris/Warren play towns like Thomaston, Terryville, North Canaan, Salisbury, and Torrington.
There’s nothing better than seeing the innocent companionship and friendly competition of our youth playing the game that many of us love. Games run until mid-June when the kids get out of school.
No worries if you couldn’t make it to a game during the season; TriTown runs a sandlot-lot style baseball program during the summer. It’s about keeping the kids sharp and playing pick-up games until it becomes the norm. Most of all, it’s raw fun. Hope to see you at the diamond.
