Comptroller Sean Scanlon and municipal leaders from across Connecticut are teaming up to launch the ArrayRx Town vs. Town Enrollment Challenge, a new initiative designed to boost prescription drug affordability as healthcare access faces mounting pressures nationwide.

The challenge, invites towns and cities around the state to engage in a friendly contest to enroll residents in ArrayRx, Connecticut’s no-cost prescription drug discount program. Since its rollout in October 2023, more than 24,000 Connecticut residents have signed up for ArrayRx, with average reported savings now exceeding $200 per prescription — a major relief at a time when medication costs are a growing concern for families and seniors .

ArrayRx offers free digital discount cards to all Connecticut residents regardless of age or income, allowing users to save up to 80% on generic drugs and 20% on brand-name prescriptions at nearly every pharmacy statewide. Enrollment is quick and online, and the card can be used immediately once received .

The Town vs. Town Enrollment Challenge is designed to harness civic pride, encouraging local officials and community organizations to spread the word and see which municipality can achieve the highest participation rate. Comptroller Scanlon, a vocal advocate for affordable healthcare, underscored the urgency of the effort, stating, “Prescription drug costs are out of control, and no one in our state should have to decide between paying for essentials like rent or food and paying for the prescription they need to live.”

People in Connecticut can sign up to get an ArrayRx prescription drug discount card online at the official website arrayrxcard.com. To enroll, residents need to provide a valid physical Connecticut address and an email address. After registering, they receive a digital card via email that can be used immediately at participating pharmacies. The digital card can also be saved to a smartphone wallet such as Apple or Google Wallet for easy use.
