Mackenzie Robillard, a high school student from Goshen, started her swimming career at the age of 11. She competed in both middle and high school and is currently the captain of her swim team at Wamogo Regional High School. She also serves as the captain of both the field hockey and tennis teams.

In addition to being a three sport captain, Mackenzie is the secretary of both the Future Business Leaders of America and her schools chapter of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of Wamogo’s concert and jazz bands.

Her favorite subject in school is science because she “likes to know how everything works, or at least try too”. When asked if she has any pregame superstitions or rituals she said she routinely wears two swim caps more out of necessity because one always falls off.

Athlete of the MonthWhen asked what advice she would give her younger teammates her reply was to remind them that “All you need to do to improve is keep trying!”

Her favorite swim memories include her “teammates cheering on the side of the pool” and “the trips to McDonalds after meets with the music blasting on the back of the bus” including her favorite song Good 4 U.

Mackenzie would like to thank Fran Marchand, Michaela Breakell and Dave Cappelo for being such amazing coaches, and more importantly her family for always being supportive.
