Tri-Town Season Winds Down

Tri-Town softball and baseball season has wound down. With the Tri-Town Yankees representing the Majors in exciting fashion, the Yankees got by the Tri-Town Reds to move onto the championship game versus Thomaston at Reeves Field in Thomaston. Tri-Town was thwarted by their opponent in the title game, but this gritty team showed no quit. 

The future looks bright for this bunch, with a core group of players returning and great coaching. They will, no doubt, be a force next spring.  

In the Tri-Town AAA division, Pizzeria Marzano played solid ball all season. They reached the semi-finals, but met their demise against Terryville Black. Pizzeria Marzano fell short in the game, but held their heads high, finishing with a season record of 13-2. 

Following the regular season, All-Star teams were assembled. These teams would face the best of the best from all around Connecticut. 

The 10U Boys went 1-3, beating Torrington and registering losses against West Hartford, Simsbury, and Granby. The boys had opportunities, due to their solid starting pitchers, with chances to move on to the next level. Tri-Town gave Granby all they could handle. 

Unfortunately, infield errors became a factor and cost them the game. It was a tough loss, but these boys showed resilience and proudly represented Tri-Town Little League. 

The 12U All-Star Boys also made their way to Game 4. Alas, the road ended for them in Simsbury. Tri-Town has, honorably, had to bid farewell to 9 of the 13 boys that aged out in this division. Surely, they have left a notable mark in Tri-Town history.  

As for the Girls 12U softball All-Stars, they made a historic run for Tri-Town. This team performed at true, All-Star level, progressing to the Division’s Final Four before falling to West Hartford. They, undoubtedly, raised the bar for Tr-Town softball, advancing further than any other prior team.
