Deborah Anne Traynum

Deborah, 74, passed away on Aug. 11. She was born on April 10, 1952, in Norwich.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her foster parents, the Johnsons; her siblings Geraldine, Dianne, Sheila, Doreen, and Marvin; and great-grandchildren. Deborah is survived by her daughter Thea, as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

 

Joanne Ella Marquardt

Joanne, 87, passed away on July 30. She was born in Canaan on Oct. 18, 1938, to Ella and Walter Johnson.  Joanne is survived by her husband, their three children, her siblings Edna, Esther, Mary, and Warren, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several cousins and other extended family.

Robert William “Bob” Commerford

Bob, 94, passed away on July 27. He was born on May 21, 1932, in Bridgeport to the late Francis and Helen. He is survived by his wife Barbara, and daughter Patricia. Bob also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Samantha, Bobby, and Danielle. Bob is also survived by his sisters Barbara, Marlene, and Marylin.

 

Frank Camille Grusauskas

Frank passed away on July 22, at the age of 70. Frank was born on Nov. 14, 1955, in Goshen. He is survived by Trudy; his longtime partner of 28 years and his sister Barbara. Frank also leaves behind his children Caitlin, Maria Rose, and Jonathan, as well as his three grandchildren, Arthur, Eloise, and Phoebe.

 

LITCHFIELD

Frank Anthony “Butch” Silano

Frank, 76, of Litchfield passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 10. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn; his son Marc; and his cherished grandchildren, Ezra and Sahara Silano. He was predeceased by his son Eric, and his parents, Frank and Anne.

Dale H. Richard

Dale, age 79, passed away in the comfort of her home on Aug. 6. Dale was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 22, 1947, to the late Godfrey and Olive Hearn. She is survived by her beloved children; Robert, Thomas, and David; her granddaughters, Valerie and London; and  her sister, Amy. Besides her parents and husband James, she was preceded in death by her brother Bill.

 

Kelli Lynn Green

Kelli, 64, of Litchfield, passed away on Aug. 1, surrounded by friends and family. Born on May 12, 1962, Kelli was the daughter of Joan and Roland, both of whom predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Amanda, and her siblings Cheryl, Pam, Candee, Roland, and Patrick.

Linda H. Grabowski

Linda, 78, passed away suddenly on July 24. She was the wife of the late Joseph Micci. Linda was the daughter of the late Leona and William. She was predeceased by her brother William, and her beloved aunts. Linda leaves behind her stepchildren Rosanne and Joseph. She is also survived by her grandchildren Laura, Richard, Marcus, Joseph, Cody, Crystle, John, and Dominic. 

 

THOMASTON

James J. “Jim” Majauskas

Jim, 78, of Thomaston passed away Aug. 12. Jim was born Aug. 2, 1948, son of the late John and Victoria. He leaves behind his son Mike, and his siblings Frank and Richard. Jim is also survived by his grandson Zachary and his niece Cathy.

 

Margaret “Peg” McLaughlin

Peg, 98, passed away on Aug. 8. She was born in Thomaston on June 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Grover C. and Mabel Atwood. Peg is survived by her five children: Kathleen, Ruth, Joan, Patrick, and Brian. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by eight siblings.

 

Elisabeth Kurdeka Bazin 

Elisabeth died on Aug. 4. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Thomaston to Anna and Joseph. She is predeceased by her siblings John and Peter, and her husband Joffre. Elisabeth is survived by her daughters Margot, Carla, and Tinah, as well as her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

 

Lois Butteri

Lois passed away on July 28. She spent most of her life in Thomaston and is the daughter of Frank and Stella Gangloff. She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her son Michael and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Kay Lorrain Hawley

Kay passed away on July 24 at the age of 91. She was born on May 16, 1935, in Waterbury to Muriel and Walter Knox, but grew up in Thomaston. Kay is survived by her children Richard, Donald, Jack, Walter, Paul, and Janice. She also leaves behind cherished great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Kay was preceded in death by her daughter Diane; her brother Jack; and her parents. 

 

TORRINGTON

Rebecca Lyn “Becky” Hayes

Becky, 45, of East Granby, passed away peacefully on Aug. 13. She was born in Torrington on Aug. 28, 1980, the daughter of Steven R. and L. Esther Dew.  Becky is survived by her husband Michael; her children, Gabrielle, Chloe, and Piper; her parents; her siblings Brian and Jefffrey; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

 

Karen E. Eichner

Karen, 83, died Aug. 10. She was born in Torrington on Oct. 22, 1942, daughter of the late William F. and Pauline. Karen leaves behind her brother William; two nieces; three grandnephews; one grandniece; and several cousins and other family and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Kathi and Paul.

 

Philip L. Andrew Jr. 

Philip, 69, passed away on Aug. 9, at his home in Harwinton. He was born in Torrington, on Dec. 8, 1956, to Mildred and the late Philip. In addition to his mother, Philip is survived by his sister, Nancy.

 

Cody Joshua Tebo

Cody, 32, born on Jan. 13, 1994, in Torrington, passed away Aug. 9 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cody was the cherished son of Kirt and Tara. He was a beloved brother to Genevieve, Ethan, and Zach. Cody is also survived by his grandparents, Kirt and Sharon, and his aunt Becky.

 

Jay Winslow

Jay, 60, passed away peacefully at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, on Aug. 3. Jay was born on Dec. 30, 1965, to Richard and Charlotte.

 

Marie Theresa Celadon

Marie, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 7, 2026, at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. Marie was born in Torrington, the daughter of Joseph and Delia. 

 

Raymond Belding

Ray, 84, passed away July 29. He was born in Torrington on Aug. 28, 1941, son of the late Donald and Jennie. Ray leaves behind his children Scott and Alison, as well as his granddaughter Helena, and many beloved friends and family. Ray was predeceased by his siblings Donald, Arlene, and Eleanor.

Rebecca Lambert Bent

Rebecca of Washington, died peacefully in hospice on Aug. 11 surrounded by family after a short illness. She was 79. Rebecca leaves her husband Ted and her children Max and Insha.

 

 

WINSTED

Edward “Ed” White Jr.

Ed, who was affectionately called by those who knew him as “the mayor,”  passed away on Aug. 13, after a brief battle with cancer. Ed was born on June 24, 1956, in New Haven, the son of Agnes and Edward. Ed is survived by his son Joseph; his stepson Calvin; and his grandchildren Kayla, Brett, and Haylee. Ed also leaves behind his siblings Elizabeth, Todd, and Roger. 

 

Thomas “Tom” Lampognana

Tom passed away on Aug. 10 at age 94. He was the son of John and Salvatrice (Sally, DeFelice). In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings Antoinette, Mary, and Angelo. Tom is survived by his wife Noreen; a sister Anna; children Mark, Lisa, and Thomas. 

 

Paula Ryan-Richard

Paula, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 6. Born May 27, 1947, in Winsted, she was the daughter of Emile and Crystal Deming Ryan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald, and her brother, Jon. Paula is survived by her brother, Henry; her nieces, Shannon and Elizabeth; and her nephews, Joseph and Matthew.

 

Irma Puckett

Irma, 96, passed away July 29 in Winsted. In 1988, Irma and her husband Dale opened “The Litchfield Food Company” in Litchfield
