“Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” Raises $53K for Victims of Domestic & Sexual Violence

On May 19th, 248 registered walkers participated in the Susan B. Anthony Project’s 7th annual “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes” event in Litchfield, where men and boys lead the way on the road to end sexual and domestic violence. The walkers raise pledges of support, either by posing for photos in the event’s signature red high-heel shoes, or actually walking a mile in them.
Goshen’s own Lance Leifert, who actually walked a mile in those pointed toe, red high-heels is a ubiquitous volunteer and supporter of charitable organizations in the region. Mr. Leifert won the honor of having recruited the most individual donors, with 32 people making donations to support his walk. He personally raised over $2,000.

Located in Torrington, CT, Susan B. Anthony Project provides a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, counseling, medical and legal advocacy and prevention education to over 8,000 people annually in their 20-town service area.
