Raymond G. Van Duyne, of Goshen
Raymond passed away on June 29, 2024 at The Cottage at Litchfield Hills in Torrington at 87 years old. He was the husband of the late Cynthia M. Van Duyne. Ray was born in Oceanside, New York to Raymond and Emma (Ritter) Van Duyne, where he was raised on the family vegetable farm.
He moved to Goshen in 1976 where he would build his family home and run his contracting business. During the course of his career, Ray touched many lives as he helped countless families turn their houses into homes.
Ray was also a talented oil painter having created many beautiful landscapes and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family in later years.
Ray is survived by a daughter, Luanne Lundquist, sons, Rick Van Duyne (Laurie) and James Van Duyne (Theresa), granddaughter, Danielle Lundquist and grandsons, Tyler and Ben Van Duyne. He also adored his furry “grandkids,” past and present.
Ray’s family would like to thank the staff at The Cottage and of Hartford Healthcare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ray.

Peter Jacquette
Peter Jacquette 72, of Goshen, died June 14 after his truck hit a tree on Pothier Rd. Pete lived most of his life in Goshen and worked for many families as a handy-man. According to CT News, Police said Jacquette had been driving a 1999 S10 Chevrolet pickup, which was angled on an embankment, and he died at the scene. Peter's loss will be felt by many.
